Are you looking to get into World of Warcraft’s latest classic expansion, Wrath of the Lich King Classic? Controlling undead powers and disease sounds like the way you want to do your glory? well our WotLK Death Knight Leveling Guide should help you a lot!
Leveling up in World of Warcraft is quite a long process. Regardless of what class you play, knowing what the best specs, talents, and even professions you hang out with can make the process a lot easier. Our guide will cover all of those details and more as you venture into Northrend.
While you’re here, if you’re interested in other Wrath of the Lich King Classic content, check out our DPS Tier List, Healer Tier List, and Tank Tier List. You may also be interested in our guide to creating your own Death Knight.
To start this guide, we’ll go over the pros and cons of each spec, and at the end recommend which spec you’ll want to use overall.
Looking at our options here, they all seem pretty much the same. But there is one that comes forward, and that will be the Frost Death Knight. The spec offers the best balance between damage and survivability.
Next, we will take a look at the tree and what you are going to choose in each leveling segment. Death Knights are a bit different in that they get most of their points after starting campaign missions. For the rush of points you get, check out the image below to show where to put your points.
These points have to do with building your damage. These buff a lot of our core abilities, so you’ll notice a nice damage boost from taking these points.
These last points are taking talents in the Blood tree. Ultimately, these are good tier 1 talents to pick up and will further increase our offensive power. That said, at level 80, you’ll be ready to honor whatever setup you choose.
As far as the professions you’ll want to level up, you can do whatever you want really. There is an inherent disadvantage that you will be at because you start at such a high level. You will have to invest a bit of time to go back and level up in the lower ranks.
That said, we recommend choosing Jewelry and Engineering. They are incredibly powerful in the late game. You can also level up something like cooking, which is great for making dungeon and raid food.
For Frost, we have three major and three minor glyphs to work with. Here are our recommendations for those.
All of our main glyphs are highlighted to increase our damage output. You can also take Glyph of Obliteration if you’re using a two-handed weapon. For minors, all of these are useful. The first two are very good, and the third one is really up to you.
And that’s all we have for you! The Death Knight is a very strong class overall, and by the end of the expansion, they are top tier. While you’re here, definitely check out our Wrath Classic PvP Tier List, as well as a few other dungeon guides, for Nexus and Culling of Stratholme.
