The football season is in full swing, which can only mean that the FIFA 23 TOTW 1 has arrived. The first batch of in-form players are now in packs, so we’ve got a breakdown of exactly who to look out for and which ones are worth targeting.
In this FIFA 23 guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about Team of the Week 1. That includes all the players in the limited-time promo, their new OVR rating, and our picks for the shining stars among the bunch. .
Elsewhere, we have plenty of other FIFA guides. Check out some FIFA 23 ratings for the game just before it arrives, as well as news about the FIFA 23 Web App, which is live now. Of course, that means the beta period is rapidly coming to an end.
Read on to see all the players featured in the inaugural.
There aren’t a lot of goalkeepers in this TOTW, so there aren’t any particularly good picks to try to hunt down. However, if you’re starting with a La Liga side, Ledesma can do a solid job between the sticks while saving for a better goalkeeper.
Likewise, there aren’t too many defenders worth chasing this week. William Saliba is a solid choice for Premier League teams thanks to his 84 DEF and reasonable 80 PAC, which he can get even higher with a mod card. However, Hamari Traore’s staggering 88 PAC is a no-brainer for Ligue 1 teams.
There is a clear winner for the midfielders in this TOTW: an early contender for the late game card in Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian boasts 94 PAS, 89 SHO and 88 DRI, making him one of the best midfield anchors you could ask for. However, he may want to avoid Savanier’s card, as he only has 68 PAC, which won’t help much during matches.
Once again, I would be remiss not to aim for the 90 OVR Heung-Min Son card in this Team of the Week. The South Korean winger’s hat-trick off the bench against Leicester earned him a card with 89 PAC, 87 DRI and 90 SHO, making him a brilliant feature for any Premier League side. However, at 151,000 coins, you’ll have to be rich to buy it.
As with TOTW cards in all other FIFA games, the only ways to get them are through packs or the transfer market. In-form players are a type that are not available in SBCs or objectives in the match, so you will have to shell out coins to get them.
At this stage in the game’s lifespan, cards in form tend to cost quite a bit of money. While they all have a discard value of around 10,000 coins, some of the higher rated ones can reach over 100,000 at this stage. If you’re lucky and manage to bag one, it might be worth selling it to give you a lot of money to play with when you build your starting team.
That’s it for our look at TOTW 1 in FIFA 23! Be sure to also check out some of our SBC solution guides. We’ve got all the help you’ll need for the Foundations 1 and Foundations 2 SBC groups.
